Energy Industry Experts To Face Press on Cyber Security at USEA Briefing on June 4

No longer is cyber insecurity just a worry for utilities. Now all energy supplies are vulnerable.”

— Llewellyn King

WASHINGTON, DC, RHODE ISLAND, USA, May 31, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — On the heels of four major cyberattacks over the past six months — the SolarWinds and Microsoft Exchange supply chain attacks, the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack, and the recent USAID email hacks — cyber security has taken on a new urgency for energy companies.

The Colonial Pipeline cyberattack broadened the parameters of concern about perpetrators, from bad state actors to wanton criminals, seeking to devastate U.S. energy systems. No longer is cyber insecurity just a worry for utilities. Now all energy supplies are vulnerable.

To examine the state of cyber defenses, especially those for utilities, and to report on vulnerability, USEA and veteran journalist Llewellyn King have assembled four experts who will be questioned by three knowledgeable reporters in a virtual press briefing, which is set for Friday, June 4 at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.

USEA Acting Executive Director Sheila Hollis will give opening remarks, and Llewellyn King will moderate. Journalists, USEA members, and members of the general audience can submit questions through the Zoom chat feature. A recording will be available on the USEA website (https:/www.usea.org) following the event.

A terrifying wild horse roundup in action

A terrifying wild horse roundup in action

I call on the Bureau of Land Management to leave the Onaqui horses on the land, manage them humanely with fertility control, and limit livestock grazing to protect the ecosystem.”

— Katherine Heigl

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA, May 31, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — By Marty Irby, Animal Wellness Action

President Richard Nixon probably signed as many landmark environmental bills as any of our U.S. chief executives.

He signed into law the Marine Mammal Protection Act and the Endangered Species Act. He also signed into law the Wild Horse and Free-Roaming Burros Act, saying it embodies "the best judgment of both the Congress and the executive branch." He added that it "permits the establishment of ranges for their use" and "makes killing of molesting them a Federal crime," prohibiting their sale or that of their remains."

He captured more than just a legal summation when he wrote the following in his signing statement:

"'WE NEED the tonic of wildness.' During the past several months, many thousands of Americans, particularly children, have concurred in Thoreau's plea with an outpouring of concern for the preservation of wild horses and burros on our Western ranges. The 11-year-old son of one Congressman felt deeply enough on the issue to himself testify before the House of Representatives and countless personal letters–many from young people-have come to the Congress, to the Federal land management agencies, and in my own mail. I take special pleasure today, therefore, in signing strong new legislation to protect these noble animals."

Now 50 years later, his stirring words are long forgotten by many of today's government bureaucrats and more than a few sitting members of Congress. Just this week, President Biden's budget includes record spending for roundups and removals of these horses from our public lands.

I imagine that 11-year-old boy who testified before Congress – Gregory Gude, son of Representative Gilbert Gude of Maryland – would be deeply disappointed in what's been revealed this month. It's been a boon for kill buyers who line their pockets from the slaughter of the wild horses and burros that have been rounded up via helicopter chase and incarcerated in mass holding facilities – well over 50,000 held captive today.

Once in holding, the options are few, and many of these majestic icons are 'adopted out' to homes that would domesticate them and utilize them as working animals – or so we thought. The New York Times' recent investigation into these alleged adoptions has revealed that many of the horses thought to be adopted are actually being funneled straight into the horse slaughter pipeline – shot in the head with a bolt gun, and ultimately ending up as slabs of meat on foreign dinner plates – a savory dish for the French and Chinese to sink their teeth into.

And while Animal Wellness Action (AWA), the Center for a Humane Economy (CHE), and the Animal Wellness Foundation (AWF) have been working for the past three years to ensure the protection of our wild horses and burros, we're doubling down in light of the most recent news.

"Big Beef" interests like the National Cattlemen's Beef Association (NCBA) want nothing more than to eradicate the wild equids on the range so that they can utilize the lands to graze cattle on the taxpayer's dime, paying little more than a few bucks a year for grazing permits. In April, we were joined by more than 70 groups in a letter to Secretary Deb Haaland – the first American Indian sat in the President's Cabinet – calling for a freeze on grazing permits. There's been no response from Haaland despite the media contacting the Secretary's Office and the White House who declined to comment.

The lack of response from the Biden Administration, combined with Haaland's testimony before the House Appropriations Committee on April 20th that the Dept. of Interior is "in agreement with the plan of the previous Administration," in continuing to eradicate the wild horses and burros on public lands, has amounted not only to a terrible offense against wild horses and burros, but the millions of horse advocates who expected anything but the continuation of the status quo from this Administration.

This week we partnered with actress Katherine Heigl to help stop the mass round-up and removal of perhaps 80 percent of the famed and beloved Onaqui wild horses of western Utah. Our billboards draw attention to plans to reduce the herd size by 80 percent, and our new microsite, www.SaveTheOnaqui.org, details why this herd is so special and undeserving of this attempt to draw down their numbers so dramatically.

Heigl, who lives in Summit County and keeps horses at her ranch in the Kamas Valley, said in a release this week from AWA, CHE, and AWF on the Associated Press' website:

"With their historic place on the public lands of Utah, the Onaqui horses are living treasures that contribute to the beauty of the Great Basin Desert, as well as the economic vitality of nearby communities. Instead of cruel helicopter roundups, I call on the Bureau of Land Management to leave the Onaqui horses on the land, manage them humanely with fertility control, and limit livestock grazing to protect the ecosystem."

The roundup is scheduled to begin July 12 and will result in between 300—400 of the 500 horses being permanently removed from their Herd Management Area (HMA) – around 80 percent of the herd.

We've appealed to Secretary Haaland to turn around this situation and to no long keep this program on auto-pilot. We've also asked the President – long a champion of horses and who came into office just a year after the Wild Horse and Burro Act was enacted – to intervene. We were joined by more than 90 groups, rescues, and businesses; and more than 1,100 individuals in a letter to the President calling for Biden to immediately place a moratorium on the roundups. So many groups are deeply disappointed that this Administration is attempting to liquidate so many herds and allowing them to go to slaughter.

Join us today in the effort to protect the icons who blazed the Western Frontier by clicking here to add your name to the roster. 11-year-old Gregory Gude was brave enough and willing to take the time to testify before Congress to protect the horses' half a century ago, and we should be too.

Marty Irby is the executive director at Animal Wellness Action in Washington, D.C., who was named as one of The Hill's Top Lobbyists for 2019 and 2020, and was recently honored by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, II for his work to protect horses. Non Profit Launches Business Pandemic Preparedness System

Press Conference June 1st, 2021, 11:00 am EST; the world needs pandemic preparedness, sustainability, and universal safe business practices.

We have to change the narrative. We need to take the politics out of our governance. We need to come together as a community if we are to be successful.”

— Steve Anderson

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, May 31, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Over the past year, SmALL businesses have felt helpless, hopeless, unsupported, and confused. Witnessing the pain and challenges felt and faced by honest, hardworking people in our communities, it became very clear we MUST take action. This sparked the inception of the organization called Social Distance Management (SDM).

Edward Henry Company (EHCO) has made the decision to give away all licensing rights and intellectual property of SDM, which includes Social Distance Advisory (SDA), Social Distance Compliance (SDC) systems, and research to SmALL Business is Essential (SBE).

SDM believes that all businesses need universal compliance measures to operate safely during a pandemic and other unprecedented times. By having access to these practical systems, SBE will have the resources it needs to develop the support for all businesses. ALL businesses are essential, and business continuity is the focus. Any opportunities managed from these systems will help all businesses secure and implement adequate steps to stay open, thrive, and have their voices heard.

The Journey of Social Distance Management

In March of 2020, EHCO started SDM with a mission to stand by businesses. Two months later, on May 11, 2020, with extensive research, collaboration and data collection, they released their first version of universal compliance standards.

Under SDM, sub-resources, including SDA and SDC systems, were established to display universal compliance guidelines and assess the threat levels in specific areas to protect the population. The idea to start SDM came from the utmost care about people and businesses, not from a political approach. Universal health measures and the life of our economy are not two isolated conversations. It is ONE conversation.

To contribute to the information gathered, in July of 2020, a Research Internship was formed to discover and outline details on various businesses in Canada and the United States. The outcome of the research included details which contributed to SDC, such as further development of safety protocols, requirements for operation, compliance measures, capacity limits, and PPE requirements. SDM used the data collection to create additional tools, such as self-assessment audits that provide a checklist for what businesses need to stay compliant and operate safely.

Taking its cue from other systems such as ISO, Homeland Security, The World Health Organization, and research from John Hopkins University, SDM developed its Advisory system. This system was developed with the intent to assist businesses and communities in preparing for crises and mitigating restrictions. “There needs to be accountability to the decisions that are being made that affect our small businesses,” said President of EHCO, Edward Henry.

The Advisory system narrows in on the WHO’s Pandemic Phases and the Homeland Security system and uses five levels of risk and threat: low, moderate, substantial, severe, and critical. The colors associated include green, blue, yellow, orange, and red. Each phase clearly defines which business practices, products, and services are considered essential and non-essential and the types of businesses permitted to open during each phase. The Advisory system is currently in the process of implementing data from John Hopkins University, along with data collected by other reputable models.

Despite the aforementioned systems, resources, and extensive research to support our findings, ambiguous guidelines still remain. Therefore, businesses are left without genuine reasons as to why they cannot safely reopen and recover.

A Multi-faceted Problem Requires Innovative Solutions

Stand By SmALL Businesses and Our Communities

SmALL Business is Essential

After spending some time in the development phase, SDM ventured out and sought support from government officials and local politicians. After COUNTLESS meetings and constantly being redirected elsewhere, it was time to take drastic action. Edward Henry states, “Limited power is not an excuse for not doing the right thing.” This year has been about a lot of the wrong things, and in the beginning, SDM was seen as a profit-making opportunity, and taking advantage of a terrible situation. The lack of change cannot continue. Coming together as a collective unit is essential.

For sustainable change to happen, SDM’s resources need to be placed in the right hands. They need to be placed with an organization that isn’t narrow minded, but bilateral with its thinking so sectors, such as health and business can come together. SBE is a not-for-profit association that operates based on three core pillars: pandemic preparedness, sustainability, and safe business practices. SBE aims to collectively arm small businesses with the support, protection, and resources needed to operate safely while envisioning economic recovery and stability through business unity.

This pandemic is not just a small business problem; it’s a world problem. The government’s attempt to segregate businesses into non-essential and essential classifications created ambiguity. This ambiguity initiated the thought that, not some, but ALL businesses are essential. As EHCO releases all of its SDM systems, traffic, assessment, and auditing models to SBE, a new leadership position begins. SBE’s goals encompass the severity of the issue at hand, which is why there is no better person for the job than Steve Anderson. As a Social Entrepreneur, Olympic Gold Medal Coach, and Community Champion, Anderson takes over as President of the not-for-profit association SBE. Edward Henry states, “My choice to recruit Steve Anderson was because of his character, coaching background, competitive nature to overcome challenges, and his experience with a multi-faceted range of individuals.” Speaking to Anderson’s character, he doesn’t make excuses. Steve is a good man, and SBE needs his character to bring everyone together.

Along with Anderson’s motivating character, he is the first African American to coach an Olympic team in indoor or beach volleyball and the first to win an Olympic Gold Medal in either practice. Anderson is highly committed to being the driving force behind SBE to support ALL businesses. He, along with the efforts of SBE, will pave the way towards a better normal.

Our current actions reflect our future results. If we don’t continue putting in effort and showing our care for our businesses, we will continue losing pieces of our community and, in turn, our economy. Small businesses have experienced unfair measures and restrictions, putting them at risk for permanent closure. Continuous lockdowns are not a solution. “This current pandemic has cost over $20 trillion because we were not prepared,” said Edward Henry. The definition of insanity is to perform the same actions and expect different results. “We will do this over again if we don’t start changing the way we do things,” he added. The focus needs to be on Social Distance Compliance and universal protocols to preserve business continuity. If we want an improved normal, we need to stand by SmALL businesses and our communities. There is no better time than now to help businesses transition from lockdowns and longer than expected restrictions.

Deep Pharma Intelligence Releases Analytical Report "Cell Therapies In Healthcare Landscape Overview 2021"

“Cell Therapies In Healthcare Landscape Overview 2021 (Stem Cells and CAR-Ts)”

“Cell Therapies In Healthcare Landscape Overview 2021 (Stem Cells and CAR-Ts)”

Deep Pharma Intelligence (DPI) is a leading UK-based strategic and investment intelligence agency focused on the emerging markets in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, MedTech and Healthcare Tech industries”

— Deep Pharma Intelligence

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, May 31, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Deep Pharma Intelligence released a special 115-page analytical report Cell Therapies In Healthcare Landscape Overview 2021 (Stem Cells and CAR-Ts), which is the first comprehensive and systematic overview of cell therapies landscape by the company. This report is specifically focused on Stem Cell therapies and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapies, and it is the first edition in a series of reports covering the landscape of cell therapies and related technologies and products.

The main aim of this report is to profile an ecosystem of biotech companies and technology developers, applying advanced biology techniques, experimentation tools, and advanced data analytics technologies for creating state-of-the-art stem cell-based products and therapies, and for creating robust clinically efficient and personalized CAR-T therapies — two exciting and rapidly evolving areas of modern biotech.

Link to the report "Cell Therapies In Healthcare Landscape Overview 2021 (Stem Cells and CAR-Ts)" – www.deep-pharma.tech/cell-therapies.

This report highlights 400 biotech companies and vendors, 200 biotech investors, and 15 pharma corporations active in the areas of stem cells research and CAR-T therapies, as well as selected R&D collaborations, funding rounds, research trends, industry trends, selected case studies, and other actionable insights about the industry.

With more than 100.000 research publications and above 1000 clinical trials taking place globally, the area of cell therapies research (stem cell and CAR-T) is steadily expanding in terms of new knowledge and understanding of fundamental biological processes associated with production and application of stem cells, CAR-T technologies, and other cell therapies in general. The area is characterized by a steady flow of scientific breakthroughs with high translational potential, which opens up a landscape of opportunities for prospective investors.

However, notwithstanding of substantial amount of clinical data showing relative safety and efficacy of cell therapies, related to stem cells and CAR-T, the overall presence of commercially available medical products and services is still rather limited, which is reflective of the fact that the market is in early days of development — with substantial growth potential overall.

Up to now, only 5 CAR-T therapies has been approved by FDA, including Abecma by Bluebird Bio and Bristol Myers Squibb, Tecartus™ by Kite Pharma, and others, as well as 19 Stem Cell products — all being blood-forming stem cells (also known as hematopoietic progenitor cells) that are derived from umbilical cord blood. These products are approved for use in patients with disorders that affect the production of blood.

The market of cell therapies is currently a growing opportunity for the private and institutional investors, and we expect the acceleration of funding inflow into the segments of stem cells and CAR-T technologies in the upcoming 2-5 years. Especially interesting opportunities emerge when companies develop specialized R&D platforms, capable of producing results with a wide variety of products and therapeutics areas.

When nearly 60% of eligible voters boycotted the parliamentary election in February 2020 it confirmed the staying power of a movement for regime change that began gaining traction at the start of 2018”

— NCRI

PARIS, FRANCE, May 31, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — It is now virtually certain that Ebrahim Raisi will be the next president of the Iranian regime. Six other candidates have been cleared by the regime’s Guardian Council to appear on the June 18 ballot, but Raisi is the favorite of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and none of the others have nearly as high a profile.

The Guardian Council made sure of this by eliminating such prospective candidates as the regime’s former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and former Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani. Although the former responded by saying he now refuses to vote, the latter proclaimed that he was “satisfied” and then urged all Iranian citizens to participate in the election as a way of promoting the survival of an “Islamic Iran.”

Larijani’s appeal is widely expected to fall on deaf ears, however. Multiple state media outlets have published commentaries in recent weeks which anticipate extremely low voter turnout, possibly leading to a renewal of the public unrest. Those outlets acknowledged that the presidential election might break the record for the lowest turnout that was set just last year when the regime-held its latest parliamentary elections.

When more than half of eligible voters boycotted the polls in February 2020, it confirmed the staying power of a movement for regime change that began gaining traction at the start of 2018. It was that the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) was credited with sparking mass protests that quickly encompassed more than 100 localities and gave rise to chants of “death to the dictator” and other explicit calls for regime change.

The movement also set the stage for the electoral boycott by announcing the people’s rejection of both the “hardline” and “reformist” factions of mainstream Iranian politics. But first, it inspired a number of other protests, including an even larger nationwide uprising in November 2019.

Whereas the January 2018 uprising resulted in dozens of deaths and thousands of arrests, the regime’s backlash was much more immediate and severe the following year. After Khamenei directed authorities to restore order by any means necessary, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps opened fire on crowds of protesters, killing approximately 1,500.

More than 12,000 arrests followed, and a September 2020 report from Amnesty International detailed some of the torture that was still being meted out to many of those arrestees at the time, both as a form of extrajudicial punishment and as part of a longstanding strategy to secure false confessions and justify prosecution for crimes against national security.

It is presumably no coincidence that 2019’s upsurge in repression of dissent 2019 was immediately preceded by the appointment of Ebrahim Raisi as the head of the Iranian judiciary. Raisi had long since established his reputation as one of the country’s leading hanging judges and a staunch advocate for punitive amputation and other forms of corporal punishment. All these things reinforced the legacy of his participation in a massacre of political prisoners in 1988, at a time of particular vulnerability for the clerical regime.

In 1988 the regime’s founder Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwa declaring that the MEK were enemies of God and should be executed accordingly. In response “death commissions” were convened in prisons throughout Iran to interrogate political prisoners over their political views and affiliations, focusing particular attention on the MEK. Those who refused to disavow the group or who otherwise failed to demonstrate fealty to the theocratic system were sentenced to hang, and these hangings were generally carried out in groups before the victims were taken away on refrigerator trucks for burial in secret mass graves.

As the deputy prosecutor for Tehran at the time of the massacre, Raisi played a leading role in the death commissions’ operations and arguably came away from incident bearing responsibility for the vast majority of the 30,000 deaths. Neither he nor any other participant has been held accountable at home or abroad for this obvious crime against humanity, and with his perspective role as the country’s next president, it is clear that the regime continues to reward human rights abusers for their brutality and intolerance of dissent.

Of course, this display of contempt for the lives of ordinary Iranians will only exacerbate the crises the regime has been struggling to deal with since the January 2018 uprising. And although authorities have been doing their best to downplay these crises, the daily newspaper Jahan-e Sanat observed that official silence over the uprisings and subsequent repression has fueled the popularity of electoral boycotts.

The MEK has specifically framed that boycott movement as an effort to “vote for regime change,” and the MEK’s “Resistance Units” have placed graffiti and posters in more than 250 locations nationwide to convey that message. In recent weeks, the effects of this campaign have seemingly been visible in public demonstrations over a range of other issues. Whether protesting the declining value of pensions or the effects of a government-run investment scam, countless Iranians have shown willingness to embrace the electoral boycott by chanting slogans like, “We have seen no justice; we will not vote anymore.”

By rejecting the entire electoral process, the Iranian people are making a clear statement about the illegitimacy of the ruling system. Even under normal circumstances, this would have opened them up to the prospect of bloody repression. But in the wake of the November 2019 crackdown, with Raisi’s brutal approach to law enforcement having just been rewarded with an unobstructed path to the presidency, the threat of political violence is intensified.

The widespread endorsement of the boycott is therefore both a testament to the resilience of the Iranian Resistance movement and a warning about the international community’s responsibility. Western powers and the United Nations should make it clear that they are aware of Raisi’s crimes both historic and recent, and they should hold the regime accountable for those crimes and also for the inevitable unrest that is to come.

And when that unrest does emerge on a scale equal or greater to that of the November 2019 uprising, the international community should be more proactive than before in affirming the validity of participants’ grievances and demands. That legitimacy stands in stark contrast to the inherent illegitimacy of Iran’s existing system of government – something that will be confirmed for all the world on June 18 when Ebrahim Raisi ascends to the presidency in absence of competitors and in the presence of a massive electoral boycott organized by the MEK.

The Alliance for Period Supplies brings attention to matters, facts, and needs that are being overlooked.

A new study by U by Kotex found that 2 in 5 people who menstruate report having struggled to afford period supplies.

2 in 5 people who menstruate (40%) report having struggled to afford period supplies. This is a shocking 35% increase since 2018.”

— Joanne Goldblum, CEO Alliance for Period Supplies

NEW HAVEN, CT, UNITED STATES, May 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Alliance for Period Supplies, representing more than 115 local nonprofit organizations working to end period poverty in the U.S., fully supports the Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2021 introduced today by Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY).

“We applaud Rep. Meng for her ongoing leadership in advancing menstrual equity. This comprehensive bill addresses the many challenges that people who menstruate face in affording and accessing the period products they require to thrive,” said Joanne Samuel Goldblum, CEO and Founder of the Alliance for Period Supplies and its parent organization the National Diaper Bank Network. “New research, released in conjunction with Period Poverty Awareness Week, shows that 2 in 5 people who menstruate (40%) report having struggled to afford period supplies. This is a shocking 35% increase since 2018. Rep. Meng’s bill will help end period poverty and ensure equitable access to these basic necessities.”

The Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2021 offers a multifaceted approach to ensuring access to menstrual hygiene products. Specifically, the bill's components that include: 1) Giving states the option to use federal grant funds to provide students with free menstrual products in schools – these grants already provide funding for health and wellness efforts; 2) Incentivizing colleges and universities to implement pilot programs that provide free menstrual products to students; 3) Ensuring that incarcerated individuals and detainees in federal (including immigration detention centers), state, and local facilitates have access to free menstrual products, including requiring guidance on distribution; 4) Allowing homeless assistance providers to use grant funds that cover shelter necessities (such as blankets and toothbrushes) to also use that money to purchase menstrual products; 5) Requiring Medicaid to cover the cost of menstrual products; 6) Directing large employers (with 100 or more employees) to provide free menstrual products for their employees in the workplace; and 7) Requiring all public federal buildings, including buildings in the U.S. Capitol complex, to provide free menstrual products in restrooms.

Rep. Meng, who introduced menstrual equity bills in both 2017 and 2019, stated, “Period products are necessary and essential items for anyone who menstruates, and access to these items are a health care and human right. But too many still struggle to obtain them, and it’s shameful and unacceptable that they remain out of reach for over half the population." She added, "I am proud to continue championing this issue in Congress, and I will not stop fighting until we achieve full menstrual equity for women and girls everywhere.”

The bill was introduced on World Menstrual Hygiene Day (May 28) and during Period Poverty Awareness Week (May 24 – 30, 2021).

Bakst And Senior Biden Officials Discuss Game-changing Initiatives

LAKEWOOD, NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES, May 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Striving for a better economy and more just society is entrepreneur and reformer Reuben Bakst, currently in serious discussion with senior White House officials regarding the implementation of three game-changing propositions.

IntelliGun

Bakst invented IntelliGun while just a teenager, and the technology has now become ripe for practical pursuance. Containing a biometric recognition system to prevent unauthorized usage by children or criminals, IntelliGun goes one critical step further by transmitting such data to a central system upon firing. Therefore, should a crime be the result of usage, the perpetrator can easily be apprehended.

IntelliGun ought to discourage even authorized users of perpetrating crimes with their firearms and could significantly decrease the current prevalence of gun violence. IntelliGun also provides the ideal middle ground vis-à-vis the political spectrum.‎ Indeed, everyone is entitled to bear arms, but it's indisputable that guns are dangerous, and requesting the small sacrifice of enabling law enforcement to access weapon firing data (and only after obtaining relevant warrants) should be an ideal compromise.

As our government possesses so much data on the citizenry, perhaps proportionate to what the citizenry can access in this information age, having the knowledge that a weapon was discharged is certainly not from the more extreme proposals. Our government knows each medication an individual receives, where he or she travels (via toll collection devices and other means), and numerous other privacy gaps exist because society collectively agreed to forgo insignificant privacy concerns in exchange for a convenience or safety mechanism whose benefit far outweighs the cost. This is certainly one such case.

As Bakst jokingly says, one could theoretically own a rocket launcher, as long as he can be identified in the event of wrongful usage (which would thus discourage such usage).

DealGen

Bakst then formed a team of leading authorities, including one Nobel Laureate whose prize was not only centered on economics but related to the exact sub-domain in question, for the purpose of developing an artificial intelligence engine that could unprecedentedly enable the mass formation of business partnerships and collaborative arrangements. This system is called DealGen. The recent decision to turn DealGen into a non-profit entity and hand it over to the current [Biden] administration for further development and rollout is the final step that will hopefully lead to its success.

Matchmaking had always been a highly manual, time-consuming process, and even the most successful of matchmakers might facilitate several dozen marriages, making those [approximately 200,000] annually attributed to eHarmony utterly remarkable. DealGen doesn’t focus on human relationships but rather on business partnerships along the broad collaborative spectrum that includes mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances, and joint ventures.
According to authorities, there are trillions of dollars to be gained through forming the right strategic alliances. Furthermore, the high failure rate of alliances (>60%) costs the economy countless billions, perhaps trillions. One of eHarmony's most impressive statistics is their member divorce rate (3.8%) versus the national average (nearly 50%).

Professor Spekman, one of the experts involved in the development of DealGen, would often reiterate that DealGen's ability to map soft variables (organizational and cultural factors) and not merely hard variables (strategic and operational factors) is one of the most compelling attributes of the DealGen model, since those softer issues are responsible for the majority of alliance failures.

Make America Just Again

MAJA is the third initiative by Bakst & Co., having been launched to promote a revolutionary solution to one of society's most systematic evils. It appears this devastating phenomenon was allowed to continue simply for lack of an alternative, hence the ability for a solution to affect profound change. The evil in question is large-scale, long-term incarceration of non-violent, low-level offenders which causes irreversible psychological, cognitive, and economic damage to not only the offenders but additionally causes major collateral damage to their children, parents and spouses, the children quasi-orphaned, spouses quasi-widowed (and needing to fill the parental and economic roles of both parents), while elderly parents grieve over living children they can no longer see in their final years.

The recent pandemic presented us with an opportunity that is both unprecedented (considering the likelihood that this never before occurred) and remarkably compelling and shouldn't be neglected. This pandemic demonstrated how agonizing the restriction of freedom can be to most, even when such restriction is relatively minimal.

Merely instructing people to stay home except for their essential needs was enough to make countless feel imprisoned, despite possessing the full comforts of home and surrounded by loved ones (and allowed to make essential trips abiding by social distancing guidelines). Nevertheless, the pain and discomfort of confinement after only several weeks brought people to the brink of suicide, as per numerous news reports. This realization led us to conclude that a far more efficient method of handling such non-violent offenders, one that doesn't entail throwing them into a prison system in which they are often abused, psychologically by staff members, physically by other inmates, and just about never leaves them rehabilitated.

Likely never has a society faced a phenomenon which compelled a large portion of the population to endure the equivalent of home incarceration, thus enabling them to sympathize with the ability for the MAJA proposition to serve as both an effective punishment and deterrent. Large-scale transfer of non-violent prison populations to spend their sentence under home incarceration would eliminate tremendous collateral damage experienced by offenders, their families, and society at large under the current system.

The ultimate goal of these efforts is for low-level offenders post-2025 to be sentenced to home incarceration, precluding the need for such transfers. In addition, prison populations will remain low as offenders are sentenced to this form of lockdown. It's time to recognize that home incarceration can be an effective means of dealing with low-level offenders and would enable true rehabilitation as well.

We spend hundreds of billions of dollars to incarcerate people who will be a burden to society without necessity. MAJA can drastically improve quality of life for millions, simultaneously benefiting several generations of family members.

The following list details problems that would be resolved by implementing the MAJA solution.

● Tearing families apart leads to disastrous outcomes on many levels. The conclusion of numerous studies, not to mention logic, is that children with both parents do better, both during childhood and in later adulthood.
● The long-term ramifications cannot be overstated (i.e., children without parental guidance are more likely to commit crime, not necessarily non-violent forms).
● The spousal burden is extraordinary, said spouse having to fill multiple roles as both parent and provider. Such forceful separation often ends in divorce, complicating any chance of the offender returning to his previous life unscathed.
● The reality is that people allowed to stay with their significant other and family, even under terms of house arrest, would be far less likely to reoffend.
● Few non-violent offenders escape emotional and/or criminal hardening due to prison life, neither positive outcomes for a system claiming the goal of correction and rehabilitation.

Mrs. Rajavi: By relying on the strategy of mass casualties, Khamenei intends to erect a barrier against the looming popular uprising.

The death toll has declined in other countries due to vaccination but it has risen in Iran because the regime’s supreme leader has banned importing American and European vaccines.”

— NCRI

PARIS, FRANCE, May 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — According to the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the number of fatalities of coronavirus has reached a staggering number of 300,000. Official estimates from the Iranian Health Ministry put the death toll at only about a quarter of that number, but those estimates have been unreliable since the very beginning. Furthermore, the MEK’s detailed account of the pandemic’s impact on Iran is inherently more plausible and more consistent with the infection rates and death tolls are seen in other countries that struggled to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said: By relying on the strategy of mass casualties, Khamenei intends to erect a barrier against the looming popular uprising, Mrs. Rajavi said. Otherwise, he could have limited the dimensions of the catastrophe by allocating part of the one trillion dollars stolen from the Iranian people, which are is in possession of the foundations under his control and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

While the death toll has declined in other countries due to vaccination, the death toll has risen to almost double in Iran because the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei has banned importing American and European vaccines.

Iran has long been recognized as the worst-affected country in the Middle East, but credible reports elevate it to one of the worst-affected in the entire world. It also explains the most important causes of that situation, which include patterns of disinformation that emerged before domestic cases of Covid-19 were even acknowledged by Iranian authorities.

The first public statements on that topic emerged in mid-February of last year, just ahead of the Iranian regime’s parliamentary elections. But documents obtained by the MEK showed that Iran’s National Emergency Organization had recorded probable cases of the new infection as early as December 2019. These, however, were covered up, presumably in order to minimize fears of public gathering ahead of planned events celebrating the anniversary of the regime’s founding, and later, mourning that regime’s leading terrorist operative, Qassem Soleimani.

As in previous years, the anniversary celebration was carefully stage-managed by authorities, who made participation mandatory for various government employees and provided free transportation and other incentives to others in order to maximize the crowds that would appear before state television cameras. This manufactured image of public support for the regime was especially important in early 2020, coming just months after a nationwide anti-government uprising, during which citizens of nearly 200 localities chanted slogans that condemned the entire ruling system and called for the establishment of a truly democratic alternative.

That sentiment would later be expressed once again during the parliamentary elections, which saw the lowest voter turnout in the 40-year history of the Iranian regime. The early signs of this electoral boycott may have actually helped convince Iranian authorities to suddenly allow reporting on domestic coronavirus infections so as to provide a cover story when the public rejected the faux democratic process as a sham. It is quite possible that in the absence of the boycott, Tehran’s cover-up may have lasted even longer. Still, by the time it ended, much damage had already been done by the state-run public gatherings in January and early February.

Those early super-spreader events, followed by slow and often non-existent government response to the pandemic, make it distinctly unlikely that the regime’s Health Ministry’s estimates are anywhere near to reality these 15 months later. By the time the first official estimates were prepared, local officials were beginning to warn about dozens of fatal cases being registered just in certain hard-hit cities. Yet, the Health Ministry insisted that barely a dozen initial deaths had been recorded across the entire country.

Over time, the pace of the Ministry’s reporting accelerated, but it has always lagged far behind MEK reports that were prepared based on hospital and morgue records, leaked government documents, and testimony from healthcare professionals who had witnessed the uncontrolled spread of the virus first-hand. Many of those experts have also spoken to Iranian media and their quotations have been published in local newspapers or broadcast on state television. In those cases, however, the remarks have been presented in isolation rather than in context with eyewitness reports from other hospitals and localities.

Still, state media reports can be collected together in order to reveal that just this month, medical staff have recorded one or two dozen daily coronavirus deaths in each hospital. Collectively, these reports indicate that there must be hundreds of daily deaths in Iran as a whole and that the situation is much farther from being brought under control than government officials have suggested.

The past weeks have borne out that prediction with the continuation of a “fourth wave” of infections that the dead of Arak Medical Services University described as a “tsunami,” the likes of which “may never be experienced again in history.” As of May 19, one hospital in Khuzestan reported having 95 percent of its ICU beds dedicated to Covid-19 cases and 90 percent of its ordinary beds. Meanwhile, the number of vaccinations barely inched upward anywhere in the country, and the daily rate of their dissemination remained at a level that, if sustained, would not cross the threshold of herd immunity for another three years.

The total number of available doses has not grown as it might have because of an order from the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei banning the import of vaccines that were manufactured in the United States or the United Kingdom. This is an initiative by Khamenei to deliberately slow the nation’s recovery for fear of the impact that it would have on social unrest.

Since November 2019 uprising, Khamenei and others have been warning about the prospect of further unrest, particularly unrest led by the MEK. At the height of the pandemic, this danger was seemingly held in check by the challenge of organizing large-scale unrest at a time when people are working to avoid transmission of a deadly contagion.

Although the Supreme Leader and the Revolutionary Guards collectively control hundreds of billions of dollars in financial assets, virtually none of these have been released to support the people in the face of the pandemic or to make it possible for the impoverished Iranian people to stay home and avoid work for long enough to flatten the curve.

More than just hoarding those resources, Khamenei has actually made recognizable efforts to expand them on the back of the pandemic. In March 2020, as the global threat to public health was just being recognized, the regime’s Supreme Leader marked the start of the Iranian calendar year by declaring that the nation’s top priority should be “boosting production.” This incentivized local authorities and private enterprises to capitalize on the lack of financial support for the Iranian people by pressuring them to do even more work in the absence of safeguards against virus transmission.

Furthermore, as vaccines began to come available, Khamenei reportedly intervened with the Health Ministry to derail the original plan for distribution to be handled by the Ministry itself. Instead, that task was placed in the hands of various ostensibly private enterprises, many of which are actually well-known affiliates or front companies for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The MEK quickly responded to that news by predicting that it would lead to exorbitant prices being charged for vaccines that the government had insisted would be free.

This prediction has proven to be accurate, with even some state media outlets reporting that individual doses have appeared on the IRGC-dominated black market with price tags up to 2,800 US dollars. The Guards are therefore making a profit on both wholesale distribution and individual sales while also creating a situation in which government officials and other elites will be virtually guaranteed access to doses ahead of the general population.

Meanwhile, the population continues to suffer from rates of infection and death that are actually accelerating in Iran, even as they are declining in other countries with access to vaccines. For better or worse, that disparity seems to have recently altered the Iranian people’s calculations regarding the comparative dangers of gathering in large numbers versus allowing the regime’s latest abuses to remain more or less unchallenged.

In March, just ahead of another Iranian New Year, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of NCRI, delivered a speech in which she highlighted recent unrest spanning much of Sistan and Baluchistan Province and called it evidence that “the fire of the uprisings is rising from the ashes of the coronavirus.” Since then, various demonstrations have been staged across multiple cities by groups, including pensioners and victims of a government-run investment scam, mostly calling attention to worsening poverty and economic corruption.

Even more recently, many of those demonstrations have also voiced support for a MEK-led effort to boycott next month’s presidential election, which some commentators in state media have said could be a precursor to further nationwide uprisings calling for the overthrow of the regime.

Mrs. Rajavi expressed her condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families of the Coronavirus victims and wished a speedy recovery for those infected with the virus. She said Iran under the rule of the mullahs has the highest Coronavirus death toll per Capita worldwide.

By refusing to pay the workers and laborers for several months, Khamenei forced them to go to work without the necessary medical and health protocols, leaving them to the mercy of Coronavirus. He also prevented them from buying vaccines from the United States, Britain, and France. According to experts, vaccination will not be carried out until the end of the Persian calendar year (March 2022), leaving a vast majority of Iranians susceptible to the subsequent COVID-19 outbreaks.

The spreading uprisings and protests of workers, laborers, retirees, and defrauded investors in recent months point to the failure of the regime’s criminal policy of mass casualties, have exacerbated public outrage and hatred towards the clerical regime and strengthened the people's determination to overthrow it.

Considering the catastrophic dimensions of the next possible Coronavirus outbreaks, especially simultaneous with the upcoming sham presidential election, Mrs. Rajavi called on different sectors of society to challenge the plunder of the mullahs and the IRGC and protest and rise up to achieve their minimum human rights.

LAUSD Backs Down on Experimental COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

LAUSD Superintendent Beutner and HR Head Del Cueto Back Down After Employees Sue Over Their Illegal COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

SANDPOINT, IDAHO, UNITED STATES, May 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — In March, Health Freedom Defense Fund (HFDF) helped employees of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to sue LAUSD Superintendent Austin Beutner and HR head Linda Del Cueto over their illegal COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Now, after months of pressure, the California School Boards Association (CSBA) has conceded the merits of the lawsuit and walked back their position.

No COVID-19 shot available today has been licensed or approved by FDA, rather, they have been issued under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). As HFDF’s legal team has argued, consistent with federal law, EUA products are “investigational” and as such may not be mandated. In fact, the terms of the EUA specifically require that recipients of EUA products be informed of the benefits, risks, and “the option to accept or refuse administration of the product.”

While the defendants have not yet legally admitted defeat, CSBA spokesman Troy Flint told The San Diego Tribune, “K-12 schools or districts, on their own, cannot require the COVID vaccines while the vaccines only have emergency use authorization.”

As evidenced by the lawsuit against LAUSD’s Beutner and Del Cueto, Flint conceded, “A school or district would likely face public backlash and legal challenges if it decides unilaterally to require COVID vaccinations for students, the association noted.”

LAUSD’s COVID mandate and threat of termination for employees choosing not to take these experimental injections violates not only federal law but the basic human right to bodily autonomy. No American should be forced to choose between feeding their family and injecting themselves with any product, particularly an experimental one, as are all the COVID vaccinations.

Ever since the world learned of the abominations committed by the Nazi regime, which lead to the Nuremberg Code, free nations have recognized that forced medical experimentation of any kind is both inhumane and unethical. This human right against medical experimentation has been ratified by the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and the US Code of Federal Regulations. In 2005, the General Conference of UNESCO adopted the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, requiring free and informed consent for the practice of ethical medicine. There can be no doubt these treaties and regulations reaffirm the basic human right to bodily autonomy and the right to voluntary informed consent.

It is time for all Americans to reject the notion that a government or a government bureaucrat wields the power or authority to force another human being to violate their person with an unwanted medical intervention. If Americans can be forcibly medicated, we are not free.
